FORGET THE FEAR OF LOVING ILLForget the fear of loving ill,And give yourself away. The more you love, the more you willHave reason to obey. Each has will to happiness,Retaining rights to be,’Mid a world of more or less,Satisfied and free.Deeper still lies what one wouldAlign with some eternal good,Yielding unity.THE COACHES I HAVE HAD HERE HAVE BEEN GIANTSThe coaches I have had here have been giants,Heads above the rest in mind and heart. After all, their young and restless clientsNeed still to find the grace to be a part.Know that all we students share your dream,Yet not always, yet, your wise persistence:Offering the gift to be a team,Undoing by success our staunch resistance.I AM OF THE DESERT, YOU OF CULTIVATIONI am of the desert, you of cultivation:Simplicity to me, to you is desolation;Heat, thirst, and agony I seek out on vacation,While you look for elegance and quiet restoration.I am of the ocean, you are of the shore:You want fewer waves, I manufacture more; You like tranquil bays, I love the rollers’ roar;In me, a wild emptiness; in you, a quiet core. While I am like a stream, you are like a lake:I babble over boulders, you reflections make;I rush forward heedlessly, as bones and branches break; You part before the piercing bow and then absorb the wake. That such extremes should not be mingled might seem elementary; But love can make the wildest contradictions complementary.I SOMETIMES THINK THAT I COULD BE ALONEI sometimes think that I could be alone:Really alone, with neither God nor friends. The people near me then might well be stone:Just faces on a frieze that never ends. And I would travel in my mind towards death,A world within a world sealed like a tomb.My thoughts would be as silent as my breath,And, like my breath, expire at my doom.Such thoughts would make me shudder, were not youA world where I may enter and find rest.A rock gives way within, and I walk throughTo be in laughing eyes a welcome guest.Thank God I have you, friend, that I might stayAnd be as I could be no other way.TO THE FATHER OF MY CHILDRENTo the father of my children:Open up your willing heart!Take what music I can give you,Hearing, too, my silent song.Even as, arrayed in passion,Finding love, I play my part,A wonder like a wind whips through me,Truth unknown for which I long. How beautiful, this unspent yearning,Ever for the darkness burning,Rising like a summer storm.HOLD MY HAND AND I’M YOURSHold my hand and I’m yours,And your heart will stay close to mine,For I know the sun must rise with the dawn,And at night the stars must shine. And the wind must wander the oceanAnd sing with the waves of the sea;Just so, I know, I’ll be by your side,And you will be wedded to me.And you will be wedded to me, my love,And I will be wedded to you;For I know the tide must turn with the moon,And the spring must return ever new.And the sky must weep that the hillsidesMay laugh in the green of their joy;And the leaves must turn red, brown, and goldThat the earth might their riches employ. And love like a mad, swollen hunger,And love like an unending song,And love like the silent pull of the EarthShall be with us all our lives long, my love,Shall be with us all our lives long.I WANT TO SAY I LOVE YOU ON YOUR BIRTHDAYI want to say I love you on your birthday,Though love is something you don’t want from me.Things didn’t go so well when I last said it,And so I’ll keep it silent in my heart. But how the words reverberate within me!A song that I must struggle not to sing,A music I must dance to without motion,A poem that I must never read aloud.Your wishes are a wall I would not scale,Yet won’t abandon, loathe to leave behind.I cannot have, and cannot bear to lose you,And so I send you this in my despair.

SEVENTY-NINESeventy-nine has just one working kidney.Even that one doesn’t work so well.Vast domains of knowledge, passion, pleasure,Eagerly await his ample leisure,Nor have they aged, as far as he can tell. The problem is he’s in such pain he simplyYearns for moments peaceful, clear, and still.Needs are hopeless mountainsides, nor is heInterested in digging deep for treasure. Now it is enough each day to fill,Enduring grace too bountiful to measure.I HAD A ROUGH TIME WITH THREE KIDS BY MYSELFI had a rough time with three kids by myself,And I know that I didn’t do well.Counseling, fights, children’s services, courts:What I put you through must have been hell. But I loved you – all of you – all of that time,When my heart seemed to break every day,When crushed, and crushed, and crushed against stones,I would that the wind were my way.And I tried – how I tried – to be what you neededAnd show you the love in my heart. But often the fantasy crashed and exploded,And all that I was came apart. And now you are grown, I don’t ask forgiveness,Just some understanding will do,Of the person, however imperfect, whose lifeAnd whose love was devoted to you.THERE ARE NO BARS TO OUR EMBRACEThere are no bars to our embrace,No presence more than in the heart. We live our lives with love and grace,Together still, though still apart. No presence more than in the heart,No touch more salient than a dream.Together still, though still apart,We are more lucky than we seem.No touch more salient than a dream,Though dreams alone must sometimes be.We are more lucky than we seemIf I trust you, and you trust me.Though dreams alone must sometimes be,We live our lives with love and grace. If I trust you, and you trust me,There are no bars to our embrace.IN EIGHTH GRADE MY BEST FRIEND PASSED AWAYIn eighth grade my best friend passed away.He isn’t gone, of course. I have him hereWith me, within my heart, as I do always. How beautiful that people are so dearTo one another! For all my life I’ll love him.Only one small part of us dies. The restLives on in others. We are music withinMusic. Nor do we ever hear the bestOf us, which sings in other hearts, a chorusOf angels! However much I miss him, he singsHere now, my friend, in me, to you, for us,Still breathing in the beauty that he brings.Love lives forever passed along, and weAll are blessed to live, to love, to be.WHAT A PUZZLE NICK’S POEMS AREWhat a puzzle Nick’s poems are!I cannot grasp what he is after.Marx is easier by far!Why write, if one is out to barAll comprehension? Does he hafta?Marx is easier by far.If only some new thought would jarBourgeois perception, as in Kafka! But Nick’s poems empty puzzles are.I think I would put him on parWith Cage or Pollack: Which is dafter?Marx is easier by far.Under what sectarian starWas he begat? What gnomic laughterTwists those poems which puzzles are?Ah me! I’ll never know. A for-Eign joke, a filial disaster!God! Such puzzles Nick’s poems are!Marx is easier–by far!MARRIAGE IS A TURN TOWARDS INNOCENCEMarriage is a turn towards innocenceAs two vow what can only be naïve.Romantic love, of course, comes more than once,Returning with the fickleness of sense,Interring what sweet semblance one would save.Adults, however, know the story well,Grasping the harsh truth of higher love,Embracing what endures but through the will.SING OF ALL THE GOODNESS YOU’VE BEEN GRANTEDSing of all the goodness you’ve been grantedIn a life where little might be sung.Xylophones and bells will play alongTo give you the embrace you always wantedYet always had, the wellspring of your song. For though the past can never be recanted,In every moment love is ever strong.Visions may be heavenly or haunted,Even as sweet music can’t be wrong.

To write poem books that sell millions of copies you need extraordinary talent but to write a fairly good poem you don’t have to be David Frost. The only way to find out you are a David Frost, an Emily Dickinson or the person who likes to write poetry and has fun doing it – is to write. Where should you begin? Let’s go over some techniques!

Reread a poem you truly love. I love Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s The Arrow and the Song. (Excerpt)

Long, long afterward, in an oak

   I found the arrow, still unbroke;

And the song, from beginning to end,

I found again in the heart of a friend.

Ask yourself what you like about that poem you find very special. E.g.: I find this poem short and sweet. It makes me wonder. Write down what you experience when you read your favorite poem.

In this case, I am fascinated by the theme of friendship. I also like the surrealism captured in the poem. The arrow is real, the song is real, but shooting them in the air is surreal.

Find a topic that gets you very excited: maybe a hobby, a sport, love, friendship, religion, your job or the job you would like to have. Let’s choose friendship. Decide if your poem is going to challenge or entertain the reader. Let’s choose to entertain. Write words that come to mind when you get excited. He who finds a friend finds a treasure! Why is it so?

   Friendship is important in life.

Do you have a special friend?

   What makes someone your friend?

Etcetera.

Write some sentences with those words. E.g.: My friend John makes me laugh. Sometimes I wonder he acts restarted or is he naturally goofy? We spend time together playing tennis, by having lunch , coffee or drinks. We share jokes, tall tales and laughter. Life seems better when we are together having a happy moment or facing a sad one.

Sort the sentences. Decide what goes in the beginning, tin he middle and at the end. You need an exciting beginning to capture the reader’s attention. Enhance or rewrite that first lines. Note if you start with fireworks, you must end with dynamite. You must also sustain the body of the poem with turns and twists to continue to excite the reader. Draft and redraft until what you get is the desired results. Leave the poem alone for a day or two, then go back and finalize it. Try your poem on family, friends or co-workers. We did it! Here is our sample poem:

You know, Champ, how to make me laugh.

Occasionally you get into crazy situations

So I rescue you doing things on your behalf.

We’re tested by tough times and expectations.

Everything is more colorful when you’re around.

Like you, I probably drive you crazy as often.

The good times we share always richly abound.

I’ll be there for you, you there for me. Amen!

Laughter will forever be the best medicine, better than any doctor prescribed pills or holistic remedy passed on by a health therapist. So it is with this thought that we at Video Babylon understands the importance of therapeutically adding the enjoyment of a Toronto wedding by providing some of the all-time anecdotes for that perfect wedding occasion. By adding a dose of laughter to your speech as a best man, maid of honour, father of the bride or mother of the groom and even the MC, doing it at the right time is the key, something that will have to come from seeing the audience and determining how you feel, however, there is never a wrong time to crack a tasteful joke during your wedding speech, for your Toronto wedding party, however, it has to be done very tastefully and in good standing of your guests, especially your newly formed family.
There is nothing worse than making a fool of yourself while standing in front of all your guests, family members and newly-inherited family members and start to insult those people that you are making a first impression towards. Keep your speech, toasts and poems funny, short and sweet and remember to have fun, this is a wedding, a Toronto wedding party and funny poems, funny speeches and funny poems are encouraged, not frowned upon, so go up there and have a blast for your Toronto wedding speech.
So in conclusion, not only can you win brownie points as a public speaker but also help in breaking the ice with your audience. The audience at a Toronto wedding can be very fickle, it can be very relaxed even while you make a toast, so go up there and make a killing, be prepared and you will be fine for your wedding speech at your Toronto wedding. Below are a few examples of one-liners that will enhance your wedding speech, poem or toast:
Socrates
By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you’ll be happy. If you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.
Rita Rudner
I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.
John Milton
Biochemically, love is just like eating large amounts of chocolate.
Henny Youngman
The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret.
Cathy Carlyle
Love is an electric blanket with somebody else in control of the switch.
Mickey Rooney
Always get married early in the morning. That way, if it doesn’t work out, you haven’t wasted a whole day.
Honore de Balzac
The majority of husbands remind me of an orangutan trying to play the violin.
Henny Youngman
I take my wife everywhere I go. She always finds her way back.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A man’s wife has more power over him than the state has.
Henry Kissinger
Nobody will ever win the battle of the sexes. There’s too much fraternizing with the enemy.
Anonymous
There are 4 keys to a successful wedding, take your wife out dancing, take your wife out shopping, take your wife out to dinners and shows and make passionate love to your wife, and in the end make sure that none of the previous 4 women meet your wife.

So you’re in your teens and its your first love, how about expressing those words of love through love poems. Teenage love poems gives a youthful representation of the hey days of teenage. Those who have crossed the age and those who are on the verge of entering their teens, its time that we rejuveneate in the culmination of the experiences that this particular period offers. Remember the first time your father bought you a cycle and you rode to school driving throuigh the narrow and small bylanes of your home town or the first crush of your life. The girl who lives near your neighborhood has been your friend during childhood but now you have developed a soft corner for her, say her your untold emotions and desires through a beautifully written love poem as its the best way to reach across your beloved. Those who are in teen and believe that they are in love here’s a word of caution for you all in this age there’s nothing call love all is infactuation which creates a illusion in the form of love. Its time that you realize that a seemingly physical change engulfs you and you are on the verge of a change, try to accept the change. Its important to note that while boys ad girls are going througha change both physically and mentally when they enter the teens its the support, understanding and proper guidance from elders and parents as its a crucial perios in one’s life and through proper directionone can excel in the desired good direction of life.Being a teenage, is sometimes regarded as one of the most difficult stages in a man’s life as it is where you are introduced to the outside world, the nitty gritties of the day to day life and sometimes you even need to shoulder responsibilities, all these facets of the age finds expression in teenage love poems which also reflects the joy of learning many new things. If you are tech savvy you get whole lot of activities to perform through online game portals, also there are many sites which offer intetresting love quotes written with touches of romantic note while some of them carry a fuuny element in them.

Explore the amazing world of Love and romance these are the gifts of almighty which leave an everlasting impact on the human beings for ever.

When you’re feeling down everything around you seems to be depressed and gloomy even the daily tasks which you earlier enjoyed doing. The reasons of depression could be many but however its vital to realize that during the course of our life we come across different up’s and downs and its these small instance that gives us the varied tastes of life. The vivid experiences that we go through our lives can be jot down and sad love poems are all about depression, frustration and feeling lonely. Its well believed that Sorrow is a part of our existence and our life is actually a mixed bag of happiness and sad emotions, and sad love poems well reflect this particular virtues of life.Every one of us go through some of the most saddest moments of our lives and its during these phases that we need to take a recourse to poems which gives us insights about the varied aspects of life and finally results in self introspection. No matter whether one is rich or poor even the best among us cannot escape or ignore the feeling of sad at different times. It is normally believed that when you are feeling sad that you develop new insight and the hidden feelings about yourself. Psychologists in different parts of the world have however come up with new versions related to the causes of sadness within us. Some of them commonly believe that some times the natural surroundings where we live and work creates an impression and some of the feelings of sadness arouses from those incidents. Seasons also create an impact on us as many believe that winter depression is a type of disease which affects millions of people every winter between September and April and in particular during the months of December, January and February. While during the spring with fragrance of new season everything around us seems new which in return creates within us a sense of happiness and good feeling.Sad love poems are not just about highlighting the moods of sadness but also showcasing the fact that after every thunderstorm there’s a sunny morning waiting for you with a bagful of promises.

THE LAST DEPRESSION LED TO HOLOCAUSTThe last depression led to holocaust. The rationale for massacre is fear.Long before it starts, the game is lost. The neighborhood of hate is always here. The best place to begin is one’s own heart. There the mad dogs pull against their chains,Lusting to tear some stranger’s throat apart,Rage that only love and patience tames. Each heart becomes a lantern in a crowd.Yes, people see according to your light,As you by theirs – but speak of love aloud,Lest other voices drown the coming night. And do not turn away from victims’ cries,For evil’s spooked by nothing more than eyes.ST. PATRICK RID THE EMERALD ISLE OF SNAKESSt. Patrick rid the emerald isle of snakes,Though only those that crawl upon the ground.Perhaps not even he had what it takes,Although a puissant saint, and well renowned,To cast out those whose children still abound.Remaining in our hearts, as when of oldIn Eden green they tempted us to sin,Cold and lean they grow more passing bold,Knowing we’ve cast out the saint within.HARDLY A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON’T THINK OF YOUHardly a day goes by that I don’t think of you,Mostly in anger, sometimes with hatred.I loved you nearly half my life, and nowThe bad has swallowed up the good, has eaten my heart. How sad that I must bury so much of me!I wish I could bury you.The real, living you I don’t want to hear about. You were once what I lived for, and nowI don’t even want to know when you are dead.THANK YOU FOR LOVING USThank you for loving us,Having us in.All you have givenNow we hold within.Kids out in limboYou made your own,Or else we might still beUnloved and alone.EASY IN THE CATACOMBSEasy in the catacombsA soul might find the SonShining on the patient bonesThat wait upon the One,Each a tale long untoldRegarding faith long gone.PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT WHAT YOU READ IS TRUEPlease be assured that what you read is true,Although to some it may seem more symbolical.Sometimes the myth itself becomes historical,Sustained by being simply what one knew.On Passover, we read the ancient story,Very certain that what happens thereEmbodies something true that all Jews share,Remnant of when God revealed His glory.YOU ARE FIVEYou are five!A big girl now!Reading on your own!I know you can’Cause look at this:You’ve just read this poem!

Romantic poems are delivering your feeling of love right into the heart of your lover. They are often considered more precious than a bouquet of rose. Truly sincere romantic poems are the best gift for your lover.

Giving romantic poems to the one you love is like delivering heaven’s sense to her/him, a heaven’s sense where blossom roses are eternal, where their fragrant are perpetual.

Dazzling romantic poems recited to your lover could be the most impressing moment in her/his lifetime. They express your truly sense through an intelligent manner. Your words are the healing spell that breaking congealed soul and melting frozen heart.

Would you look at the star tonight?

Could you find a lone red star shining bright?

The lone red star has been passing times to times

It witnessed many reunions and many partings

I wish you gazing at it there

I am too gazing it here

In a distance we are separated

But our hearts won’t be divided

The above romantic poems told us about a reunion of two lovers, a reunion of their sense (by gazing at the same star), even though a distance separated them. By gazing at the same star, they hoped that their hearts are parallelized.

Romantic poems are the best thing that a lover could give, since they are coming from his/her truly sense. They are also reflex the honest attitude of their author. A person having bad temper could not make these kind of poems, since they are made with the highest positive emotion. If one has a sensitive feeling, he usually made romantic poems easily.

Recently, a dear relative passed away. I tried to find a suitable eulogy poem on the Internet. However, a lot of the poetry was too long, outdated, or oozing with expressive language that didn’t feel natural. Fortunately, with the memorial service taking place a few weeks after the passing of my loved one, I had some time to write my own poetry.

Usually, however, a funeral is arranged within a few days of death. Filled with grief, we are not at our most creative. If you are searching for a short poem or two, please feel free to use some of the poetry in this article.

In any of the poems, you may exchange ‘she’, ‘her’, ‘Grandma’ etc. for ‘he’, ‘him’, or ‘Grandpa’ where appropriate. You may even want to add a specific reference to the person’s name in the title and/or text of the poem.

If you publish these poems (or the entire article) on your website, please be sure to include the byline, copyright notice, and links. If you use one of the poems for a memorial service or funeral, please include my byline.Eulogy – Funeral Poem Number 1:Farewell, My Love

Her laugh still echoes in the depths of my brain;

And when I hear it, it causes me pain.

I miss her so much – mere words cannot say,

How this heartache devours me night and day…

But my memories are strong and time heals grief,

So I dream of the future – and quiet relief.

As I browse through my photos with love and pride,

I know that this sorrow will someday subside,

Leaving happy memories in its place -

Memories of her and her smiling face.

A loving farewell, my dear, adieu.

My heart belongs ever and always to you.By Kathy SteinemannEulogy – Funeral Poem Number 2:Death Will Lose

Her body lies breathless, in quiet sleep.

We remember her life; we cry and weep.

Life doesn’t seem fair, and Death even less,

I don’t understand it, I must confess.

We barely exist, in sorrow and pain;

We mourn our loss, we seethe and complain…

But what would she want, if she were alive?

Would she want us to wallow, to merely survive?

Or would she want more? Perhaps our courage -

To reject our grief with its cruel bondage!

Let’s honor her now and look forward – with hope,

Remembering her life and learning to cope,

With loss as a tool to sculpt our goals -

Not as an anchor that burdens our souls.

Celebrate her life – reminisce with a grin!

Then Death will lose – and she will win!By Kathy SteinemannEulogy – Funeral Poem Number 3:How Can I Manage, Now That She’s Gone?

Grandma was there when I needed an ally -

If I wanted to talk – or felt like a cry.

When no one else seemed to understand -

She was there – with a helping hand.

How can I manage now that she’s gone?

Without her advice I can’t carry on!

She was wise and witty and one-of-a-kind;

I feel so lost since she left me behind.

I know she told me she wanted to go -

Her body was tired and hurt her so…

Maybe now is the time for me to resume -

Carry on her tradition and break this gloom -

To impart her wisdom to family and friends,

And face life with a smile while my heart slowly mends.

Grandma, I miss you. You’ll always be near -

In my thoughts, in my heart – I have you right here.By Kathy Steinemann
